On November 5, 2022, the comprehensive training module of the engineering training course - Intelligent Robot Assessment and Evaluation Activity kicked off in the comprehensive training and training space of the engineering training center. The activity conducted assessments and evaluations of five projects, including robot dance performance, race walking, penalty shootout competition, golf, logistics handling car, etc. 53 teams and a total of 227 junior students performed a fierce competition of robot intelligence skills on site.


The activity site was busy, and students repeatedly optimized the plan, modified the program, and debugged the instruments according to their own group's actual situation, striving to make the robots perform at their best. In the wonderful dance performance, the robots received cheers with their extremely difficult movements amidst the beautiful music, naturally and vividly reflecting the theme of "war and peace"; In the intense race walking competition, robots, under the control of students, walk briskly and steadily towards their predetermined goals; In the interesting penalty kick assessment, the robot rotates, locates, and aims, quickly shoots the football steadily, and then accurately hits the goal; In the intense golf assessment, the robot autonomously identifies the position of the ball and the hole, and continuously adjusts its standing position and swing and hitting movements; At the scorching assessment site of the logistics handling car, students were focused on studying the walking route of the robot.


All the excellent works displayed in the event are the joint achievements of the teachers and students of the Engineering Training Center who have worked hard to overcome themselves. Due to the epidemic, the comprehensive training for the 2022-2023 academic year lasted for a whole year. In order to promote the education and development of students, the Engineering Training Center attaches great importance to it and strives to ensure that all aspects of the comprehensive training are closely connected and smoothly carried out. The guiding teachers who participated in this process made tremendous contributions. They persisted in attending classes while guiding students in training, sacrificing their rest time to devote themselves wholeheartedly to guiding students. They put in a lot of effort from analyzing and formulating plans, planning and implementing processing, to teaching and answering questions for students. The participating students have also overcome various difficulties. They use their spare study time to persist in comprehensive training. While mastering knowledge, they also exercise their hands-on practical ability, innovative thinking ability, and teamwork ability.
The comprehensive training and teaching module of the Engineering Training Center aims to stimulate students' interest in design and processing. It adopts a project-based teaching mode, where students form teams of 3-5 people and participate in voluntary double selection with the guidance of the guidance teacher team organized by the training center. Under the guidance of the guidance teacher, students independently complete all aspects from design to processing and assembly. The training center is responsible for reviewing project topics, and projects that pass the review will be processed free of charge by the training center. The selection of topics for the comprehensive training and teaching module includes intelligent robots, gravity potential energy vehicles, drones, intelligent garbage classification vehicles, aquatic fish, creative products, etc. It serves more than 1500 students every year, aiming to comprehensively cultivate students' comprehensive qualities and empower the construction of new engineering disciplines. The Engineering Training Center will further enhance the comprehensive training of college students, persistently carry out engineering practice and innovation education, provide training venues, create learning conditions, improve practical environment, and create a talent cultivation atmosphere for students, maximize the mobilization and stimulation of students' enthusiasm for learning theory and emphasizing practice, and strive to cultivate comprehensive talents with all-round development for our school!
