In order to enhance students' awareness of engineering innovation, cultivate practical abilities, promote teamwork spirit, and improve their comprehensive engineering training abilities, the Science and Technology Innovation Department of the Engineering Innovation Base of the School of Mechanical Engineering, in conjunction with the Engineering Training Center of Jilin University, has held the National College Student Engineering Training Ability Competition since September. The selection and training of participants have been carried out, and on November 29th, the selection and training work officially came to an end.
Since the end of last semester, the promotion work for this event has been vigorously carried out both online and offline. The students are full of enthusiasm for this competition, and the publicity effect is obvious. After preliminary registration and selection, the list of candidates was confirmed. On September 25th, the first exchange meeting was successfully held at the Engineering Training Center. The organizer assigned a task for selecting contestants at the meeting, requiring them to submit a competition work within the specified time. On October 10th, the Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation collected the task results of each group of participants, and the judging panel ultimately selected five groups of works that were successfully selected for the later training stage. With the strong support of the Engineering Training Center, various resources were fully mobilized to lay the foundation for the training of athletes, and training was conducted once a week. On November 29th, the Ministry of Science and Technology Innovation organized a metalworking skills seminar and exchange meeting. After nearly a month of training, all participating groups made significant progress and shared their training experiences with each other at the meeting. Thus, the selection and training of participants for this engineering training ability competition have officially ended.
This activity not only deepened mutual understanding among students, but also ignited their passion for implementing innovative practices. In the engineering training competition, I believe that students can forge ahead, overcome obstacles and achieve excellent results, and bring glory to the School of Mechanical Engineering.
